A stupid farmer and a wise donkey
One day, a young reckless donkey swayed around a large well for so long that he fell into it. Did he get out? And did anyone help him? Keep reading or listen to the audio to find out everything.
The donkey began to moan loudly at the bottom of the well, so it wasn't long before the farmer noticed. He cursed and lamented what a stupid animal the donkey is. He tried to pull the donkey out, but after a while he realized he couldn't do anything. He decided to leave him in the well and to cover it for sure, so that no more useful animals would fall in there.
He called his two neighbors and asked them to help him fill in the well.
These two were just as stupid as cruel that they didn't find it strange to bury an animal alive. Each of them grabbed a shovel and they all started throwing sand and dirt into the well.
The donkey moaned for a while, but after a few minutes there was silence. The farmers thought he was reconciled to his fate. But it was quite different.
The clever donkey was busy. He carefully trampled every shovel throw of clay, and kept getting higher and higher. When he got close to the opening of the well, he bounced, jumped up, and ran away from the evil farmers as quickly as possible.
The farmers stood stunned and stared at the donkey in surprise. They were speechless and ashamed of their behavior.
The little donkey, whom they considered a stupid and useless animal, taught them a good lesson and outwitted them all.
