Why and how to write your Gratitude diary
How is it possible that teachers, parents or physicians miss the fact that there is an effective remedy against dissatisfaction, depression, aggression, drugs and alcohol in the form of a diary of gratitude?
I knew an old grandmother, whom I liked to sit in the park on the bench with, and who regularly wrote a gratitude diary from the elementary school. She had a short story about each gratitude note. Meeting her was always very inspiring. I loved her stories from the diary. She passed 105 years without illness, claiming that it was because of her diary.
If you do not write your gratitude diary, it's as if you did not brush your teeth. After some time, your mind begins to rot like an unbrushed tooth.
What happens when you get used to writing what you are grateful for?
Change your thinking. Focus on what you have and not on what you do not have. You will lose interest in other unnecessary material things. You will have the impression that you have so much that anything else would not fit in your life.
And that's not all. Everyone wants to be a friend, work or live with such a person who writes a gratitude diary. Simply put, you always feel good with such a person even if you do not know why. Just like me with the grandmother.
It is impossible to achieve an extraordinary and healthy life without a gratitude diary. It should be used by parents, teachers, doctors and leaders as the most important tool of prosperity and good health.
A written expression of gratitude also has another meaning. The gratitude diary serves as a chronicle of experiences for your children and grandchildren. I would give anything if I could read hundreds of stories of my grandfather or grandmother.
Under the weight of these facts, it is actually very stupid and destructive not to use the gratitude diary. It's almost as stupid as to stop breathing. Writing a gratitude diary is one of the best life decisions.
How to do it?
In the gratitude diary, give thanks for another new morning, for food, for your parents' visit, for the passed exams, for higher salary, for holidays, for your working performance, for new experience, for your children, for the found car key or for the getting rid of severe angina. Give thanks for everything you can think of. Put a description of emotions in a list and add photos to them.
It's unbelievable how much your gratitude diary gives you back in return for a few minutes a week. It's hard to believe.
